Really Big Fires

went to a christmas tree burning two nights ago. everyone brings their tree and they make one huge bonfire. it was in DePanne where Z!s parents live so we went with them and Z!s kids and their dog.
i wrote this while the trees burned, on the sandy beach before the wide deep sea. afterwards there were fireworks. there werent that many people so we were very close up. the fireworks were right overhead and reflected in the water.
between the humongous fire and the up-close fireworks display i had a pretty fantastic evening. but staring into flames always makes me pensive...
so i wrote some bad poetry right there in the cold turned hot... let me share it with you.

Really Big Fires
Very pretty
imagine myself surrounded by it.
and i think
if there is a god
maybe hell isn’t all that bad.
Fire, real Fire
sparks, fire curls in my hair
+ imagine it all around me
Once intoxicated
smoke smelling like perfume
in this case they are burning trees
but what do burning souls smell like?
Lights of every color
coming out of my mouth
into the sea for a shimmering demise
are there fireworks every night in hell?
and that crackle

only those who believe in hell know
what beauty is.
